Yes it is all over for another year! - Yes we are going to do it again!!!!!!
I can't say it wasn't exhausting but we think it went off really well and by all of the lovely feedback from those who attended it seems that it was enjoyed by all! A HUGE THANKYOU TO ALL PARTICIPANTS AND THEIR ENCOURAGING COMMENTS!!!!!
It is a huge undertaking and I could not have done it without DH ( and this does stand for "darling husband") not another abbreviation that we were joking about after a couple of glasses of "vino" lately!!!!!
Firstly a huge thankyou to the major sponsors of the weekend WHK Accountants - their support allowed our ladies of th west the opportunity to attend this event at very reasonable prices. WHK provide a range of products from accounting to financial advice so please give them a call if you are requiring services such as these plus many more. Their local offices are located at Chinchilla, Dalby and Toowoomba.
Also a huge thankyou to my parents Don & Noela, my in-laws Noel & Pat for babysitting, Vicky Hartley - my "ring in" helper and my staff Ree Price & Virginia Rafton. A big thankyou to friends who rang with words of encouragement before and after the event and the Dulacca Playgroup mums who catered!
It is a team effort that is for sure. Also to Greg & Jan Allen from Pleasuresew Capalaba for coming all the way "out west" with their machines and Rosalie Waters from Rose Quilting Highfields for coming and sharing their information.
A special THANKYOU TO ALL THOSE WHO DONATED QUILTS OF LOVE - 93!!!!!!!! What an effort! - It is a very special cause and the hospitals and families do truly appreciate this act of kindness. also to my clover club girls who are always full of enthusiasm and support and some even let me use their quilts to hang over the weekend! Neitta, Karen, Gwen, Pat & Virginia plus of course Anna & Joy!
Now we are doing it all again and I will have the details out in the next week so you can start planning for next year!
So here are some photos of the weekend and I will put more up as I receive more (there wasn't much time for me to take photos!!)
The arrival - the cleanest cattle truck in the west! It was scrubbed with warm soapy water inside and out! The cows won't be game to set foot in it again!
The Helpers" under protest sometimes - we won't talk about the "upside down quilts" will we boys!
We are ready!!!!!!!!!!!! - We hope!
The entrance - only in the country do you have a cattle truck displaying quilts!
Even the flowers were out in bloom! The boys at Bassett Park did a wonderful job!
Some of the crowd of "stayers" on Saturday night! We had a ball and there were tears of laughter running down the cheeks of a few! The games were very entertaining - you just had to be there! Not to mention the names of certain quilt blocks!
Workshops on the Sunday were very well attended and here is Ree with some of her Colouring Table runner girls - Ree, Marci (Roma) Shirley (Morayfield) Cecily ( Roma). Well done girls!
Some of the bags - now the only reason I chopped the girls heads off was that one was a little camera shy! And she will thank me sooooo much for this! But aren't the bags gorgeous! These are the Cowbelles overnight bags!
Here is the back end of DH and Jud getting some assistance from Greg with her machine!
Jud's farmyard bag!
So stay tuned for even more!
So thankyou thankyou again for your support of the event and we look forward to next year!
