Roma KoolKat Visit

Roma, Mitchell & Charleville ladies recently had the pleasure of Kathy & Geoff Adams from KoolKat Quilting paying them a visit on a whirlwind "outback" tour. AND I just happened to be in Roma that day - true - nothing usually works in when I head to town but they had to replace the dash on our car and so I was on foot and had an hour here and there in between jobs and so got to pop in and out during the day! AND I turned up lugging everything I needed to do in Roma including getting a whip fixed - only in the country can you turn up and walk the streets with a whip and no one looks sideways. But Debra kindly took this photo as she explained its not everyday you turn up to craft with one though!!! Maybe it could be a new teaching technique - ha ha!

 

Kathy & Geoff had lots of quilts to show with gorgeous quilting plus the "shop" version of the accuquilt cutter which we all had a little "play" on.

Injune Annual Challenge

This has been a tumultuous - I think that's how you spell it - week for many - RAIN RAIN RAIN - and I didn't think I would ever say this but too much for many. We are all safe and well and the little cherubs have returned from their flood extended stay with grandparents in Chinchilla. We are thinking of those in Theodore and now Chinchilla, Condamine, Taroom, Surat and St George within our regions and of course those further afield coping with the flood.

Now recently the delightful ladies of Injune kindly asked me to be apart of their xmas festivities and their annual challenge handover! And what fun it was! They never cease to amaze me in what they produce from the one set of challenge fabrics. So here is a little peek of some of their projects!

 

Now I do apologise that I don't have all of them - it was before the wine started but their seems to be a few blurry pics. Also I don't have a pic of mine - so I hope to show you it shortly. It is definatley "wavey"

Now the challenge was a set of fabrics with the theme funky wave and it could be anything - preferably using a newly learnt technique!

 

Here is Joan's cushion that is wrinkled/shrunk- we will be demonstrating how to do this at "Craft in The Country" in Roma in April!!!

So there you have it - well done to Sue M and Joan who have organised the challenge for a  few years now and not only do a great job but manage to get just about everyone in and out of the club involved!!!!

Chinchilla Patches & Piecemakers Exhibition

Just had an email the other day from Glenys about their upcoming "Colours of Our World" Exhibition of their local patchwork groups gorgeous array of items. It will be held in the White Gums Gallery  - Henney Street, Chinchilla starting with an official opening at Midday 2nd August and will run for the entire month of August.

So if you are in the vicinity make sure you drop in and take a look. They are a wonderfully talented and dedicated couple of groups and I'm sure it will be an excellent exhibition.

Injune Ck Patchworkers Quilt Show

Just a reminder that the Injune Ck Patchworkers will be holding their Quilt Show on Saturday the 20th & Sunday 21st June - so if you have a spare couple of hours be sure to stop in and have a look at the wonderful work this group produces.

I will also be in attendance at the hall with the ladies that weekend with the shop and we will be doing a 2 day "All the Wave" workshop.

It would be lovely to see a few faces turn up to support the ladies efforts!
